In this CM for women’s pain medication Arax Norshin Pure, Minami Akina (南明奈) is confronted by pain incarnate. Fortunately, her box of Pure pills does the job and fights back! It’s “Purekiina” (ピュアッキーナ) versus “Zukkiina” (ズッキーナ, zukizuki/’ずきずき’ is Japanese for ‘pain’) in a showdown for Akina’s wellness.
Imagine how different soccer would be if the goal keepers were giants or instead of just one guy keeping the ball out of the net, there were a 100! Here’s two AWESOME CMs for Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (三井住友海上) that explore those possible ways to spice up the game. Starring the lovely Horikita Maki (堀北真希).
This is a Japanese commercial for McDonald’s from 1977. Ronald McDonald stops the Hamburgler with magic and the kids from around the world all get their burgers back! That’s all you need to know. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
This au Hikari internet service CM for Hokkaido has an uncharacteristically goofy/cute Tsuchiya Anna (土屋アンナ) sitting on what looks like a furry sofa in the sky…
The jingle is easy to memorize and with subtitled lyrics, there’s no excuse not to sing along every time the advert comes on!
“Nozo, Nozo, Nozomi, drum-a-drum-a-drum-fill sound…” is how it all began last year.
Now, LOTTE Fit’s goes to the museum for the latest installment of the infectiously delicious series that stars Sasaki Nozomi (佐々木希) and Sato Takeru (佐藤健) with music by Tamurapan (たむらぱん).
The museum is the fifth in the series of commercials that do everything right. From the “get out of my head”-jingle to the wacky-”I wanna try that”-dance to the subtle-yet-fancy camera movement, it all gets seared into memory.
Enjoy LOTTE Fit’s gum anywhere! At the shop. In the park. In Akita or Nara prefectures. The Nara edition with Sato was the first one I saw and forever my favorite.
This commercial for internet service provider So-net starring Shinoda Mariko (篠田麻里子), formerly of AKB48, may be almost a year old but it’s still quite great. Makes me proud to be publishing this over a So-net connection.
CMstyle.tv is like television without commercials shows! Perhaps that sounds horrible but when the commercials are cute, cool, funny, or bizarre and from Japan, why watch anything else?
CMstyle travels to the glowing, glassy, ozone-scented, red-green-and-blue-tinged world where Japanese CMs (short for commercial) are crafted, discovering, extracting, and beaming them straight to you.
